The foreign ministers of Arab, European and US countries held a meeting in the Saudi capital on the future of Syria, while the foreign ministers of Germany and Turkey met on the sidelines and discussed giving a role to the Kurds in Syria.
German Foreign Minister Analina Birbok met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Riyadh on the sidelines of a meeting in Riyadh on Wednesday.
The German Foreign Minister stressed that a new and peaceful Syria needs to end the war in the north and give the Kurds a role in the overall political transition.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said the security and territorial integrity of Syria must remain the top priority.
