Baghdad and Washington will announce an agreement on the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq this week, US officials said.

  

 Iraq and the United States are expected to announce an agreement this week to reduce their troops, the US newspaper Politico reported, citing two US government sources.

 According to the agreement, an unspecified number of troops will remain in Iraq indefinitely.

 According to the agreement, hundreds of the 2,500 US troops in Iraq will withdraw in September next year, and the forces in the Kurdistan Region will withdraw by the end of 2026, the Wall Street Journal reported
