The commander-in-chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said the future of Syria is still unclear and it is unclear what steps the new government will take.

SDF commander-in-chief Mazlum Abdi told the BBC Persian that Damascus' statements were positive so far, but that they were under pressure from Turkey to take action against northern and eastern Syria.

"We welcome any country that supports us. Israel is a country that has a role in both the United States and the region. We will not reject anyone's hand of peace," Abdi said.

"They have no relations with Iran, nither openly or secretly, and the rumors spread by the Turkish media are only to create conflict between them and the United States," he said.
