The Iraqi Ministry of Oil announced that government gasoline will be smuggled to the Kurdistan region from two Iraqi governorates.

Assm Jihad, a spokesman for the Iraqi Oil Ministry, said that there are a number of people who smuggle gasoline into the Kurdistan region from Nineveh and Diyala provinces.

He added, "The smuggled gasoline is the gasoline that the government provides as the share of the governorates."

The spokesman explained that the reason for smuggling was that the price of gasoline in the Kurdistan Region is very high, and in the two governorates, each liter of gasoline is 450 dinars.
