"The decision to evacuate or defend Sheikh Maqsud and Ashrafiya is up to the residents and our efforts are to open a way to rescue the people and refugees," he told KNN.



 Ruken Jamal, spokeswoman of the Women's Defense Units (YPJ) on the situation in Aleppo and the Kurdish neighborhoods told KNN: “The decision to evacuate or defend the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsood and Ashrafiya is up to the residents.


 "A number of YPJ fighters and YPG hostages have fallen into the hands of the militants and we are trying to free them," he said.


 "Our efforts are to open a way to rescue people and refugees," she said.
