The National Council of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) held an extraordinary meeting in Sulaimani on Wednesday.



 At the beginning, Kamil Sheikh Qadir, Secretary of the National Council, presented the agenda of the meeting to the participants, including the latest political developments, tensions and war in the region and the political changes that will affect Iraq and the region.

 At the same time, the position on the campaign mechanism of the election list 114 of the Gorran Movement and the sixth session of the Kurdistan Parliament.  The last topic was the re-confidence of Dana Ahmad Majid as the general organizer by the members of the National Council.

 Dana Ahmad Majid, Secretary General of the Gorran Movement, said that the wars and conflicts in the region threaten Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, so in this sensitive situation in the region, the duty of the political parties and the Kurdistan Regional Government  A national strategy to deal with the developments of this situation and, for the sake of the general interest of our citizens and nation to protect ourselves and the Kurdistan Region in these conflicts and complications and maintain the political balance.


 Regarding the election process, the Secretary General of the sixth session of the Kurdistan Parliament called the election as an important stage of democracy for the region and the Gorran Movement, and called on all organs and organizations of Gorran to participate in the election campaign  114 of the Gorran Movement in all four constituencies of Erbil, Sulaimani, Duhok and Halabja.

 In another part of the meeting, Dana Ahmad Majid, the position and support of several institutions, personalities, writers and intellectuals, who have come to the new discourse of the Gorran Movement, which is a sign of success  We will prepare Gorran for the stage of political opposition.

 Finally, the majority of members of the National Council, gave confidence to Dana Ahmad Majid, as the Secretary General of the Gorran Movement, after the official letter of the High Election Commission on September 18, 2024, all organizational powers transferred through Mr. Omar Sayed Ali  Dana Ahmad Majid, to follow the powers of the Secretary General, then on (September 28, 2024) in a ceremony in Sulaimani and the new Secretary General of the Gorran Movement was presented
